UPDATE on the Porkbusters Holds: Two of them!!! UPDATE 8/30 pm: Revealed! Senator Ted Stevens' staff acknowledges that he has placed a hold on the bill. Update 8/31: pm Since yesterday rumors have circulated that a second, Democratic holder existed. Suitably Flip now reports confirmation that as suspected, Senator Byrd is the second holder, and has now both confessed and lifted his hold! We had placed Byrd in the clear based on a reader report, but it looks like that report was incorrect... PS: My sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to this effort. I had initially been emailing personal responses to everyone who sent in their reports, but with hundreds notifications to review, that became infeasible.
