ONE lesson from Vietnam might have been how to fight a guerilla war where friend and foe both look alike.

As I recall the suggestion was....Kill em all, let G*d sort them out.

Sorry RMF.. After the Tet offensive of 1968, the Viet Cong were practically wiped out as a force. While there were still some non-uniform VC guerilla units remaining, the war actually transitioned to one that primarily involved uniformed N. Vietnamese soldiers and units.

BUT..of course, Rumsfeld and the geniuses that put together the war plan for Iraq were too busy figuring out how to collect all the flowers that would be thrown at them by Iraqi citizens to consider such mundane and unnecessary lessons.

Y'know.. Iraq has more than 3 provinces RMF. 15 of the 18 provinces of Iraq are relatively secure.

Admittedly the Mahdi Army has been more active as of late, but it seems that the Iraqi and US forces are finally taking the necessary actions to confront them.
