I was born in Westport and moved to Saranac Lake when I was 14.
I know the adirondacks very well............those winters are tough so go up there when it's -45 for a few days before you buy land.

I can tell you horror stories about the winters there.

Now I live in Ca...............many of my old friends are now in warmer climates............one week when I was a senior in high school the high was -24 !!!

How were the mosquitoes and black flies? I can remember getting carried away by either or both of those insects!

Pretty but desolate and the area tends toward a weak economy based mostly on tourists.
