Probably be hard to produce juice unless you can get your landlord to put in a system. You could put in compact florescent lights and save some money.
I'd move to where I could have some land. In fact, I did, 20 years ago. Never can tell when you may need to grow your own food. OTH, if you live in a city and use public transportation or a bike instead of a car, you probably have made a meaningful contribution. Recycling saves a tremendous amount of energy.
Maybe most important is education. What do your elected reps know about energy supplies? How many people do you know who understand oil is a finite resource, and we will run short someday?
