Really, the question is how many Muslims are not Arabs? Right now, the majority of Islamo-Fascist, militant Jihadist, theology is eminating from either NW Pakistan, Iran, or Saudi Arabia.. Areas of growing concern are Sudan, Somalia, Egypt, Palestine, and Lebanon... There is some Jihadism activity in Indonesia and the Phillipines, but not nearly as radical as in the Arab area.I don't hold much hope for a Islamic reformation. To date, there has been no serious discussion by the Islamic community to accept civil rights. However, I think that Islamic culture is ready for a swing back to the status quo away from the strict fundamentalism of the salafi meatheads. It IS a possibility that internal reformation will be impossible. My perspective has been that Islamo-Fascism has shown that it is willing to use violence to force Muslim adherents to abide by their intolerant interpretation of Islam. And I believe that if we're not willing to display a similiar force of will in presenting a democratic alternative then we truly WILL LOSE this war. Arabs naturally pledge their loyalty to those they perceive as the strongest. They certainly will not entertain democratic reforms when it's clear that they may find themselves abandoned by the US, and quickly targeted for assassination by the militants. The cost/benefit scenario for reformists would just not be there. So, IMO, this nation had better figure out what it is willing to fight for. Because if they wait until the bad guys put our backs up against the wall and leave us without such a choice, the amount of blood that will be required to be spilled to put things right again, will far exceed the amount that is being spilled now.
