No, of course not. Just trying to correctly focus the problem solving on the actual culprit. The problem there wasn't the notion of privatization. Your assessment overgeneralized.

We could have obviated the Enron problem with greater regulation of pension funds so that the plan was fully funded and protected and/or more transparent so that employees would have better understanding of their risks and could make better decisions. There has been a lot of discussion of the former over the years but nothing has been done.
