<<And I agree, corn will not be the preferred feedstock for alcohol production. It will put inflationary pressures on livestock feed as well as the price of my cornflakes.. >>

The oil and the high gluten parts are removed before the corn is made into alcohol, only the starch is used. Much of that starch is used in making paper. BTW, when they remove the high gluten part, that's what is used for cattle feed and since it's now a by product it has become cheaper. That makes for cheaper meat production.

Part of the problem is more than food inflation for us; food shortages in poor countries...

The grain needed to fill a 25-gallon SUV tank will feed one person for a year, Brown says. Livestock and poultry growers fear they won't have enough grain for feed, and countries that import U.S. grain are worried about their corn supply, he said.

If I did my math right, the two plants AENS brings on-line in '08 will eat the corn of 8.8 million people. A few more plants here and there, and we are suddenly talkin' 100 million people who have lost their entire yearly grain supply.
But, will I become a vegan and start walking everywhere? Uh, uh; I'm gonna watch while the captain whacks the hands off of everybody trying to hang on to the life boat. Carnivore trumps bleeding heart.

Cheap way to use hydrogen; but they still need to produce it at an energy gain
