Hmmmm. That's true that some down comes from the oils... though it's also true that the markets rose with the oils, so yours is hardly an argument for market advance.

But more to the point, if one is charting a broader index, why should it matter what is the "cause" of the down? Are you saying a Naz count would be less "good" if the Networkers lead the down as opposed to the Semis or as opposed to an across the board decline? Seems like breaking down by sector like that would make TA of any index impossible.
