OK. I guess the fees for using other banks ATMs refers to the fees charged by the other banks, not any actual Suntrust fee.

Suntrust charges the merchant a fee to use credit cards. I think the range is 2 to 4%. Some places will take your debit card because the fee is lower, but if you try & run it as credit, they will not take it. Also, the "service" of being able to type in your number and run your debit card as a credit card costs extra and not all businesses pay for that.

Suntrust charges fees, just not to you.
