(But I don't think that the majority of it is) You can also lament the gap to the extent that it might create a backlash against the free-market that you want to avoid" And you can lament (the extent of) it because it disrupts peaceful coexistence and correlates to decreased safety and undermines community or social values. Or you can lament it for other reasons that reflect your own particular values as a human being. You can also applaud it for whatever reasons you choose to do so. Not to leave anybody out...
