Forget the freaking Ottoman Empire. It's been dead a long time. It is the population left in place that counts, not who used to rule it, or what morons divided it up and appointed new leaders. If your view had an ounce of merit to it, the Turks would be at Israels throats, since gee, they used to rule the place. Guess what? They get along with Israel just fine for a Muslim country, although, the last little war in Lebanon seems to have decreased western leaning in Turkey and increased their Muslim leanings. Why do they get along as well as they do? BECAUSE it was not a Turkish population which was displaced by Jewish immigration. In fact, LOL, the Turks IIRC were quite happy to SELL land to the Jews? Guess why? It wasn't their country, they were foreigner land owners. Now if the Stern and Irgun had been doing their little ethnic cleansing jobs on Turks, I will assure you that Turkey today would not view Israel kindly. Yet you don't seem to comprehend this very simple idea.
