Maybe that's the confusion...

K8L is a new core design, not a chip designation.

That slide is saying that in '07, K8L will be offered in quad-core on the "legacy" 3xHTT DDR2 platform.

'08 will see K8L offered on the new 4xHTT3.0 platform.
