"Our present course of action of doing nothing.." I do think we are doing something. We are spending billions on warfare to protect and procure oil when we could have spent billions on alternative energy sources. Think about even a THIRD of the national defense budget spent on alternative energies since 1980. We would have solved the problem by now. But then, some major financial interests would have made far less money, primarily oil companies, military contractors and the politicians that feed off them....
