That was the approach that elected Clinton twice and took 48% of the popular presidential vote in 2000 and 2004, or am I mistaken?

As a Texan, how could you forget that Ross Perot ran? IMO, he contributed more to clinton winning than anyone or anything else.

This morning's subject on the Rubin project is about populist economics - i.e. no taxes and a balanced budget etc. At least those two points were in the article.

If clinton's "it's the economy stupid" was so successful, why isn't is being dusted off today? The same voters go to many of the same voting booths.
