oh please. Your entire post is straight out of 1975.

Carbon based energy (oil, coal, nat gas) fuels the world economy and will continue to do so long after you're sprouting daisies. There are no economically viable alternatives and won't be in any meaningful numbers for the foreseeable future...

Ever since Bush was elected, all these people who felt "left behind" are now back, spewing their -its all hopeless- BS. Theres some guy on the RE thread who says we will NEVER build a working electric car. LOL. There are 6 electric car startups in my area alone. One is not stealth (the Tesla).

Yes hydrogen and other energy sources TAKE energy to create. But what do you get on the other side is the question.

Just as a note: There are countries, who have significantly reduced their energy consumption since 1970, and have increased the size of their economy a lot during the same period.
