That's certainly a myth of the rather strident part of the the further right in this country. Its not a myth. And the evidence advanced is Ward Churchill. No Ward Churchill isn't evidence, and hasn't been presented as evidence by me, of a larger liberal bias. He was properly presented as an example of the type of professor that some conservatives or conservative groups are trying to get fired. The larger issue of liberal bias remains, but calling for people to be fired is not the proper response to that issue. The assertion of a strong enough bias to be counted as working against the goal of critical thinking means, to me, you think there is some systemic problem to account for. Yes. I think many conservatives exaggerate the extent of the problem and the typical severity of the problem, but pointing out that exaggeration doesn't mean that there is no underlying problem. The evidence is the statements and actions of academia. And also in polls that have been posted before. Its clear that academics, and esp. academics in the social sciences and humanities are to the left of America as a whole, and not by just a small amount.
