I remember reading that New Yorkers and other city dwellers walk more, so they stay slimmer. When we were in the UK, and they had The Big Challenge (which was a challenge to folks in the UK to lose weight)- the BBC gave out packets with pedometers in them, and they talked about how much various people walk, and how much one needs to walk. According to the Big Challenge I think you need 10,000 steps to be healthy- and people got that pretty easily in cities.

All this is so interesting. Maybe people are evolving into some new blob like life form.
