Okay, then how about that Newt is one of the brightest people around and I agree 100% with his policies and plans... sheeeeesh!!! GZ

Newt is a good strategist..but a lousy legislator. There are a couple of really entertaining and well documented books out there about his years as Speaker. He just couldn't get past the "big picture" to the horse-trading of government. Clinton dazzled him (by his own admission, he got sucked in by Bubba's charm) and lost the showdown in 95 over the government shutdown. Still, I like Newt. Always interesting to listen to and certainly sees the big picture and understands history. Not afraid to speak out and criticize his own party too.
