Yeah, the official story about the Norad response timeline changed again a few months ago. United 93 was supposedly based on the new version, with the formerly classified tapes being released to the film maker to help them out with the propaganda piece.

I went through the transcript and posted some stuff on it a few months ago, but by now it's pretty well buried in nonsense posts. As I recall there was a little bit of Congressional bluster about lying generals, but nothing has come from it that I know of.

What the tapes basically show is that every time Norad was starting to focus in the right direction, they would get a call from some anonymous source to throw them off the track. The diversionary exercises played a big role in keeping response to a minimum. One of the more interesting items I ran across is that something like an hour after the attacks were over, there were over 300 fighters flying missions over the US. That compares to a total of 4 during the two hours of the attacks.

RE: "The point he makes is that if the new story is true, then so many people along the way that vouched for the old story all lied."

Yeah, but since the lies weren't about sex, it's not something Congress takes action on.

Speaking of lies and Congress, some interesting items came out in a recent report on the bogus claims related to Iraq.
