CBS will simulcast 9/11 doc on the web

9/11In response to concerns about profanity from some affiliates, CBS will simulcast the Naudet brothers' September 11th documentary on its website. About 10 percent of CBS affiliates will not air the documentary because they fear steep fines from the FCC for the use of the F-word by firefighters as the real-life drama unfolds. I can't find a list of the affiliates that won't air the documentary, and I'm not sure if your listings are updated so if you're TiVoing it, you may want to be there at 8 pm Sunday night just to make sure it's actually being recorded.

On this speech as criteria issue, it's important to note that Dale did not argue it was his only criteria. Just that it was one important one among others.

Harry Truman was certainly not a polished public speaker, yet he'll go down as one of our best presidents. And Ronald Reagan was certainly polished but I did not vote for him and would not, given his policies. And his connections to the more right wing components of the Republican Party.

So I think it's fair to argue that speech abilities are one criteria. It's also fair to argue that Bush's presidency will go down as the worst in our history, not because he speaks badly, but because of arrogance, wrong policies, and incompetence.
