Not South African....more like Rhodesian though I was born in the USA and lived in Rhodesia from the age of 7-13 and went back when I was 20 (1971?)..after dropping out of college....stayed until the last flag was taken down at Parliament House in Salisbury..moved to South Africa until 1990.....came back stateside then.....not a rand in my pocket but a kitbag full of Rhodesian memories....the finest place I have ever experienced....it cannot be explained/described by someone like me (unpoetic)....Sorry to be so wordy Paarl
