Too bad I did not elaborate............. I did not mention the extremists' desire to "install" Islam as I believe that is all too obvious.

The real "procurers" do not live in the south but in Bangkok and therefore not easy to get at. To be sure, the Islamists do not like to see westerners coming and "effing" the local girls. To them that is shameful and humiliating.

Shooting teachers and mechanics happened because they are relatively easy and safe targets for the shooters. (But not anymore, or so it would seem.) Apparently teachers are targeted because they teach/preach against the extremist Muslims, and the mechanics to sort of "paralyse" transportation which would impact negatively on the community.
I won't be surprised if some the shootings were also due to personal vendettas.

To be sure, "terrorists" strive to create fear that would dive away western patrons thereby impacting negatively on the economy of the community and draw worldwide attention to their cause.
