From your response, it could be argued that the Nazis did not kill Joe Kennedy Jr. as there was no indication he was actually shot down and killed. From other sources it would appear he died as a result of a massive explosion which occurred when the cargo of high explosives in his plane blew up not by enemy action but by violent shock due to sudden and severe shifting of the cargo. To be sure, saying that he was killed by the Nazis would add to his heroism. .
