"What we have is the terrorists on defense and you wining like a 2 year old about it."

"Whining?"

Which terrorists do you think are "on defense?"

Is it the Taliban faction now regrouping in Afghanistan and retaking control of some areas?

Is it the numerous groups who've LEARNED in the best terrorist training camp in the world...Iraq...to kill our soldiers so efficiently?

Is it the tribal groups on the Afghan/Pakistan border who've recently forged a "live and let live" truce with the Pakistan government? You know, the ones who've likely sheltered, fed and protected Bin Laden for years?

Is it the myriad number of greater or lesser threatening Al Queda splinter groups who are operating in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the Sudan, England, France, the US, Canada, Indonesia? Just put a pin on a map and, largely because of the images and our aggression in Iraq there will be groups of plotters committed to the terrorist cause against America there?

Or maybe you are encouraged by all the feel good claims of "insurgents killed and terrorists captured" while the number and deadliness of terrorist attacks rises year after year and the eyes of young Muslim children turn harder and harder.

But perhaps you think that the massive negative shift in world opinion, even outside of the Muslim world, toward America is encouraging?

I'd guess you're just another "faith based" thinker who prefers to do your thinking by internalizing slogans that make you feel good. Slogans like, "We have the terrorists on the run," or "The insurgency in Iraqi is in it's death throes," or, my personal favorite, "Bring em on?"

If you tackle a bear with a club and he's kicking your ass, you better get another plan. Because yelling optimistic accounts of how you've got the bear "on defense" is going to get progressively more painful. Ed
