Anyways, she immediately sensed the truth in what he was speaking about regarding the religous totalitarianism of the Muslims.

Keith.. maybe I'm deluding myself, but given that I've worked with some fairly devout muslims who showed no inclination towards restoring the Caliphate, I continue to hold open the belief that Islam can become more of a spiritual faith, rather than a religion that believes in global domination by force.

And neither your wife, nor the rest of us, should ever forget that it wasn't too many centuries ago when many prominent "Christian" leaders advocated the forced conversion of non-christians. And the Arab militants (for the most part) make great hay over this confrontation being a "Crusade" against Islam, while downplaying anyone trying to compare Crusades to their concept of Jihad..

We must possess an "intolerance for intolerance". Spiritual competitions for souls can only be conducted peacefully. I cannot conceive of any diety who could condone violence over how people believe in it.

Which is why I don't want people to ever forget that its not just Islam that is vulnerable to being hi-jacked by the "convert or die" crowd.
