E.T. Somewhere between Reagan and G.W.Bush, the CIA became corrupt in it's passion to become the main spy organization on earth, and kept information from the other security offices of this country. They knew that Bush would not approve of their shenanigans, and wanted to make him look bad to save their own asses. They, definitely, did have something to gain by lying to the Bush White House, but they got caught and caused a new regime to take control of the operation, and were forced to exchange intelligence with the other security factions.

The CIA lied about Plame. By their silence in not correcting the misrepresentation of Plame as anything but a domestic desk jockey they allowed a partisan Democrat from Illinois to expand his inquiry to allow Libby to be prosecuted when it was a man who was no fan of President Bush, Richard Armitage, who had outed Val. Message 21512104 "There's nothing to be gained for the CIA to lie to the WH." But there is everything to be gained by lying so people like you can repeat the lies when it suits you. "Kids are coming home in boxes, and for what. For what, to lessen the threat against America." Your attitude reminds me of a line from Monte Python; "Run Away!" The day when isolationism worked is past. Besides with democrat obstruction and lack of republican conformity on border protection, it couldn't happen anyway.
