re: "We underestimated how hard it would be. But the fundamental idea behind Iraq is still correct," said Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

"If we back out of this fight ... your children and grandchildren will never know peace," Graham warned.

Vietnam redux. First it was how noble the war was, second it was how it's noble but we just screwed it up, third (and present) the justification that "we can't leave now after we created this mess", and finally, finally, the recognition that the whole premise was wrong and we have to cut our obscene losses NOW.

Only 3-4 more years, at least a couple thousand of our kids dead, maybe 10,000 injured, maybe another $300 Billion spent.

For nothing....

"I know Iraq is a mess and we have screwed up seven ways from Sunday," the South Carolina senator told about 300 people at the College of Charleston on Sunday.

"We underestimated how hard it would be. But the fundamental idea behind Iraq is still correct," said Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Even when they admit they screwed they are still right. Are these people ever wrong?
