Some excellent books on the Taft/Vandingham isolationsists, and the America First movement. The traditional conservative views of the day were to avoid foreign entanglements at all costs....just like Lodge helped kill the Leage of Nations..nothing good ever came out of foreign involvement in those folks' views.
