Reinforced with steel rebar. Probably not, probably a layer of steel mesh which would have been fairly negligible in the collapse.


All of the highrise buildings I have seen under construction used a grid of number 3 bars even on these metal decks. Steel mesh or welded wire fabric could be used too, but it's not favored on high rise because of the labor of the handling of huge sheets of wire mesh. Rolls don't work well in thin slabs where you have to get them flat...so rebar is the best choice.

I'll bet they had rebar.

Probably normal 5 sack concrete, but not lightweight.
