Yes it is. Although there is little evidence to believe otherwise. K8L almost certainly will not be the first 65-nm CPU. Previously leaked roadmaps have shown the same model numbers applied to 65-nm CPUs as 90-nm CPUs. AMD didn't significantly improve performance in the last couple shrinks. There was also a thread at XtremeSystems, now pulled apparently because the link at Ace's no longer works, that showed a 65-nm engineering sample performing almost identically to an equally clocked 90-nm Athlon 64 X2.

One thing IS for sure. AMD stock price is north of 26 and Intel is still a teenager.

AMD's share price should be breaking away from Intel's considering Dell is expected to use 10-20 million AMD CPUs during the next year. It will keep AMD afloat and should prevent Intel from returning to their former glory anytime soon.
