The placement of France near the center is not surprising at all. Traditionally, that's where most political scientists put France. I think that's a rather questionable statement. Furthermore I see no reason to accept such an argument from authority from some unnamed group of political scientists. Oh give me a break. Who are you all to rewrite the rules that the majority of the world has lived by for a significant number of years? You need to put France as far right as you possible so you all won't look to be the extremists that you are.
