I was only under anesthesia once. They gave me either when getting my tonsils out. From the time of going under until waking seemed like one moment. So I was wondering if loss of consciousness, in this type of circumstance, stopped subconscious processes as well.

I got knocked out once on hippie drugs in 1970 and had a wild dream trying to get back to consciousness. That's why I was wondering if there are differing levels of being knocked out by anesthesia or coma and what happens in the subconscious if anything?

Are you familiar with the WWI novel called 'Johnny Got His Gun'?
