We all assume the iranian bomb is for israel and the US or at least to deter those two nations. But what if it is really for the sunnis. With sunni pakistan on one side with an ever increasing al quaeda presence at least in the border areas as well as a history for loose nukes; and with iraqistan now fully formed in anwar province according to the american commanders there; and with Saudi Arabia on yet another side and the prime target of al quaeda---perhaps iran is not as insane as we think they are. Perhaps that shiaa crescent concept is all that lies between "us" and the abyss. And Syria, who defended our embassy today. is part of that crescent.
And if irans goals are both to protect against us, israel and the sunnis, and we judge them as dangerous as al quaeda, perhaps we should encourage our enemies to fight it out making sure noone wins as in iraq/iran. Just some thoughts in the creative staage. Your thoughts on this welcome..
