Believing that futures provide a net benefit is hardly the same as not believing "zero sum exists".

Dollars lost and gained by each party on a futures contract are equal and opposite. In other words, futures trading is a zero-sum game.

The actual trade might be but that doesn't mean the futures markets are a zero sum game.
