FPG, Uhh, isn't this simultaneously applying a double standard (you were just ranting about AMD's incomprehensible model numbers) and proving his point? (I.e. going to pricewatch to get clarification of the specifics for a product line is "research.")

What double-standard? Here is my exact quote: "AMD's naming system is no more meaningful than Intel's." In other words, both naming systems stink. I don't know why Jim likes one and dislikes the other.

As for research, anyone walking down the computer aisle of Circuit City/Best Buy/Fry's/Costco is doing "research." If Jim or anyone else can't do this kind of "research," he or she shouldn't be commenting on purchasing computers in general.
