Excellent find Brumar (including your commentary). One thing the fantasy world leftists refuse to discuss is the fact that post 9/11, we were already in Iraq. We were there enforcing the no-fly zones & pressuring Saddam to comply with the Gulf War Cease Fire Agreement (UN Resolution 687). Saddam was regularly firing on us (an act of war), while defiantly ignoring & regularly violating the mandates Cease Fire Agreement. What choice other than full, unconditional compliance or Saddam's removal did we have? The only other choice was to pack up & leave (Saddam's billions in bribes was clearly having success in eliminating the will of the UN to maintain a sanctions regime & the Cease Fire inspections regime). It was time to $hit or get off the pot. Think about that in a post 9/11 context. At the time, the MSM, DNC, the UN along with almost every major intelligence agency on the planet was in agreement that Saddam possessed stockpiles of WMD's & he continued to maintain WMD program capabilities. They agreed that Saddam had many ties to terrorist organizations. They knew full well Saddam freed from his obligations would further destabilize the entire region. And they knew full well that Saddam continued his genocidal ways, slaughtering tens of thousands of innocents annually. And YES, the MSM, DNC & UN are all on the record holding these positions to be fact. Does anyone honestly believe that post 9/11, by allowing Saddam to successfully outlast & fully escape mandates agreed to by the "global community" (the UN) that this would have no serious effect on the GWOT? Precisely what message would withdrawal back then send to terrorists & rouge dictators who harbor, sponsor, train & finance them? Only those who have BDS & live in a fantasy world could possibly concoct some half baked, revisionist BS to the contrary.
