I just went online and bought a 50-inch Plasma for the bedroom...best way I know to recover from a ball kickin. I just figure it went down that much more and I got the TV for free. Twisted logic, but it was fun. <g>

I guess I just have not added up things to see how bad they are. It's true that I have been moving money into TreasuryDirect for the last 2-3 months, but not nearly enough to start bragging about. Just making sure I have enough for the tax man next year and for a new car (Prius, maybe)in case my wife's 1996 Saturn finally does get beyond repair.

As I told Rory, we don't need to blame ourselves because everyone else is crazy. Every sort of traditional measure points to a major bear market in stocks, but at the same time, oil and natural gas are bound to remain in great and maybe increasing demand. If it comes to choosing between a tank of gas and a meal for four at an moderately priced restaurant, people are going to opt for the tank of gasoline. I will be a lot less surprised by $120 oil than I will by $40 oil, but I will survive even the latter. And I fully expect a 40% down bear market in general stock markets.
