The scale of the tragedy in Iraq is heartbreaking. To think we could have chosen a wiser path saddens me as well. Iraq is a bigger and deeper hole every day. There has been so much deception and corruption for money, power and warped ideology -- we need to get serious about turning in a new direction and doing so with clean hands, honesty and integrity. This idea that we fae a "stay or go" choice is baseless and stupid. What we need is a strategy to be effective in several ways at the same time. We are fools to stay like this. And we are fools to leave like this. It is time for a major new line of thinking to emerge.
