It means we brutally defeated them after they attacked us, as was our goal. Germany and Japan both have fully functioning governments and crime rates that make American cities look like free fire zones. We are in these countries because we gave ourselves the right to be there as long as we like as part of the terms of their surrender we shoved down their throats with our fist with a gun loaded, cocked and placed to their heads -- still warm from the killing of many hundreds of thousands of their citizens.

Did Iraq attack us? Did we brutally defeat Iraq? Are we still in Iraq in the same way we are still in Japan and Germany?
