In China they teach their students that the US advocacy of democracy, press freedom and individual rights in China is a cynical plot to destabilize the country. The state media echos this. In France and Germany for instance institutional demonization of America has resulted in many believing that the US is a greater threat to world hegemony than Iran. We have had nukes unused for over half a century, and when we did use then they are estimated to have saved over a quarter million lives. Iran has stated that they cannot wait to use them on Israel. Iran is the largest weapons supplier to Hezbollah and Hamas, two terrorist groups. On the face that belief is ridiculous and its existence is an indicator of great trouble for dealing effectively with militant islamofascism. "How many allies do we have left, whether "fair" or "foul"?" The Saudi's laid off their demonization of America long enough to get us to remove Saddam from Kuwait. When someone attacks Europe, the French and Germans will be begging for US assistance. We have a couple staunch allies and a great many fair weather allies.
