Yeah, Hawk, but what were the Iraqis actually doing wrong at the time? I'm curious how you would address almost every finding that disocciates Saddam from Al Quadea & the absence of wmd.

Imagine you're a gangster leader/drug dealer who is caught and convicted. But in the interest of not initiating a gang war in your neighborhood by putting you in prison, we work out a deal where you promise to account for all of your illegal drugs you've ever purchased, as well as the money you've earned from those sales.

So, for year after year, you continue to fail to properly account for all of those drugs, the quantity of which we know from your confession, or from information gathered during our investigation... We continually catch you in lie after lie and threaten to fulfill our promise of throwing you in prison, but you're a pretty tough guy and we're not sure we want to run the risk and expense of apprehending you.

And eventually, who tell us that you'll no longer honor the terms of your probation, and that you'll no longer cooperate, despite the fact that, by your own admissions and documentation, that you've been lying to us..

So what does the justice system do with you Keith? No one in the city council wants to haul you in, since it might result in bloodshed, but can they continue to permit you to thumb your nose at the law, and/or the accord you agreed to abide by??

In the case of Saddam, the intelligence agencies of 15 different UNSC members were unable to present any evidence that Saddam had complied with the terms of the cease-fire accord.

And Saddam was not just sitting around doing "nothing". I've showed the documents related to Saddam's involvement with Zawahiri's Egyptian Islamic Jihad (later merged with OBL's MAK to form Al Qai'da).

There are other documents and reports stating that Zawahiri (or one of his designated representatives) was in Baghdad in Feb, 1998, and shortly thereafter OBL issued a declaration condemning coalition actions against Saddam.

And finally.. you can ask Ray Robison, who worked with the Iraq Survey Group in Qatar:

And here Ray discusses a document discovered in Afghanistan discussing how certain Al Qai'da members were being sent to Saddam for training, while others were being sent to Iran:

And the translation of the actual document:

I don't Keith.. I could probably spend hours drumming up articles that deal with Saddam's involvement in terrorist, as well as involvement with Al Qai'da.

The sad thing is that this administration has done a very poor job of getting this information out in a manner which the American people can read and understand.
