<If Saudi Arabia is unable to receive the vast wealth that they receive from selling us their oil and simultaneously produce a tolerant population that can accept non-Muslim Saudis as equivalent human beings, then they are the problem, not us>

Obviously it is our problem and it is a problem that grows worse every day. The source of oil is only half the issue -- our use of the oil is the other half. We are destroying the world -- literally -- through our absurd rate of burning oil and coal while we are also destroying the prospects for global peace and our own security by financing the political elite in the middle east who can only stay in power through a combination of repression and permissive promotion of radical Islam. This entire energy complex is unsustainable and will end in ruin. We burn the oil -- and YES, that makes it our fault.
