Of course, there are opinions and opinions.............. This afternoon I heard over a Canadian radio talk show while driving in my car that the US is losing the war on terror because the US has lost a lot of credibility on it. According to the expert (whose name I don't recall but who is the author of the book, "The Hubris of Imperialism"), Bush had told the world a bareface lie that the reason the Muslims hate America is their envy of our freedoms and liberties, our way of life and our high standard of living. However, over the last 5 years, the world has become increasingly aware that what Bush had said was not true and that the real reason for the Muslims' hatred is America's unstinting and overt support for Israel and America's manipulation of the price of oil. The expert suggested that America would do well to to stop supporting Israel and leave Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East alone just as Osama Ben Ladin had demanded 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I missed the continuation of the show in which he most probably would have been asked for his opinion as to what might ensue in the Middle East once America has left it alone. .
