The "scientific thinking" needs to evolve to new understandings and the other thinking seems quite content with it's original explanation. Does it bother you that, using "scientific thinking" the Wright Brothers were not able to build 747s? That Da Vinci never actually built one of those helicopters? That penicillin wasn't discovered until the 20th century? As for "the other thinking," are you satisfied that the earth is flat, that it's the center of the solar system, that the universe was created about 6000 years ago? (On a Tuesday, was it?)
