They started at the end of August, which is a month earlier than usual. Very odd. And the yields are at the top of the charts, and the corn has a low moisture content which saves some $$ on the drying cost. Btw, a friend of mine told me his son put in a corn furnace last year and heated his house (3500 sq ft) for $300 last winter. Evidently these things burn ultra clean vs wood. He lives on 5 acres so he bought an old gravity box and put in a chute/auger system in a basement window, just like the way coal was delivered decades ago.
