Bush poo-poo'ed Gore's wise environmentalism in 2000 and stated Gore wanted to do away with the internal combustion engine and oil-coal power plants. Gore did say he wanted to do away with the internal combustion engine, and while eventually that might happen doing it in a decade or two would be anything but "100% right" Cheney poo-poo'ed conservation and said in 2000 that it was not going to solve our problems Which is correct. Conservation alone will not solve our problems. They also stated in speeches that we are fighting in Iraq to protect "the American way of life" which of course means over-consumption of oil. More nonsense.
