The Administration wants to avoid being charged with war crimes -- they are right to be worried. I am very impressed by the efforts of McCain and Powell and Warner to stand up for basic human rights despite the enormous pressure on them to toe the party line and salute the system of secret prisons with their torture chambers and kangaroo courts that is so favored by Bush and the gang of thugs who have taken us so far down this path.

On the bright side for Bush, a McCain-Powell ticket is likely a winner in 2008, and that should give him an excellent shot at a Presidential pardon for war crimes.
