the sanity of your response approaches wisdom--if there is such a thing on Wall Street.

The one thing that I learned when I came seriously close to losing my entire investment was to temper my enthusiasm for AMD with the realities of the environment in which AMD operates. Rather than complain about manipulation and insider trading, I've learned to factor them into my decision making. Rather than scoff at price war rumors that I feel are FUD, I take some stock off the table and see what materializes.

Most investors understand that there are some very powerful players out there who are capable of doing things that you and I cannot do. Smart investors learn how to anticipate the markets reaction to FUD and modify their investments accordingly. I would not put myself in this category yet, but, I'm a work in progress...
/////////////////////////////////////

I am new to AMD...just post 3.50/share.....after the Jan 05 crash..I paid close attention to the nonfanbois here and Yahoo board....those who said intc will price to kill...those
who doubted .....be it AMD ACE or EPHUD..or some TA traders ..
It saved me a fortune this year....Pay heed: this stock is cyclical!! but soon...whether this year 2007 or 2008..the cycle WILL NOT repeat...and this stock will never see 25 or 30
again.....hope I don't miss the permanent rise in AMD mkt cap...

Very well summarized analysis of AMD's volatility, and how to play it. It takes time to understand the way it works, and how to adjust your tactics to it.

You need to know what is real, and what is hype, and how much to take off the table, and when to do it.

You have to know the manipulation is real, even to have a chance at success.
