>>>Sinopec, a major Chinese oil firm, may soon sign a deal with Iran to develop the huge Yadavaran oil field<<<

What will this mean to the US attempt to get Iran to stop enrichment? Bush is trying to get economic sanctions in place. I understood that August 31 was some sort of major deadline. It has come and gone with little change. I understand that there is a new bigger deadline coming up. I don't see any consensus being formed to punish Iran into submission. Certainly not from the Chinese. I think that Iran can play rope-a-dope for years. I think that Iran is going to get the bomb.

What are the implications of that?? I certainly don't relish the concept. Just who is Iran trying to push around? You have to consider what would happen if Iran used one. The US would make them glow in the dark with either complete approval from the rest of the world or quiet indifference.
