All good points to remember. However, some will not occur to that degree again, and especially not all at the same time.

Dell selling a large volume of AMD chips acts like a wholesaler, comparable to Walmart. This solidifies AMD's claim of Duopoly status, and though it does not guarantee profitability, it reduces risk, and hurts Intel. It also drives competition (from HP and Lenovo, etc.) to offer better quality in AMD based products.

This improves AMD's business prospects, and should reduce its volatility. The closer AMD gets to Intel in market share, the more stable it becomes. Hence the trading rules are adjusted, (time delayed for verification) to reflect changes in market share status.

I thought your summary events of the the decline were outstanding, but I would prefer a more timely report, (half kidding, three quarters serious).
